NO DATA COLLECTION

Wavetype does not collect, transmit, or store any user data. All voice processing happens locally on your device using the open-source Whisper AI model.

WHAT WE DON'T DO

We don't record or store your voice
We don't send data to any servers
We don't track your usage
We don't sell or share any information
We don't require an account

LOCAL PROCESSING

All transcriptions are processed entirely on your Mac. Audio is temporarily stored in memory during recording and immediately deleted after transcription. No audio files are saved to disk.

IN-APP PURCHASES

Purchase information is handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs all purchase transactions.

MICROPHONE ACCESS

Wavetype requires microphone access solely for voice recording. Audio is processed locally and never transmitted to any external servers. You can revoke microphone access at any time in System Settings.

ACCESSIBILITY API

The Mac App Store edition of Wavetype does not request or use the Accessibility API. Transcribed text is placed on your clipboard and you paste with ⌘V manually.

A separate direct-download edition of Wavetype, distributed outside the App Store, may request Accessibility permission to auto-paste transcriptions into the focused app. That permission is optional and only used for the paste action; no other app data is read or modified.

NETWORK ACCESS

The app only uses network access for two purposes:

Downloading AI models from Hugging Face (one-time, optional downloads)
Verifying in-app purchases through Apple's StoreKit servers

No user data, voice recordings, or transcriptions are ever transmitted over the network.

ACCURACY DISCLAIMER & LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

Wavetype uses AI-powered speech recognition technology which, while advanced, may produce inaccurate or incomplete transcriptions. The accuracy of transcriptions can vary based on audio quality, accents, background noise, technical terms, and other factors.

IMPORTANT: Wavetype is provided "as is" for general productivity purposes only. It is NOT intended for:

Legal proceedings, depositions, or court records
Medical transcription or patient records
Safety-critical applications
Financial or contractual documents
Any application where transcription errors could result in harm, legal liability, or financial loss

Users are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all transcriptions. By using Wavetype, you acknowledge that:

Transcriptions may contain errors or inaccuracies
You will review and verify all transcribed content before use
The developer is not liable for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from inaccurate transcriptions
You will not use the app for applications requiring certified accuracy

Always proofread transcriptions before using them in any important context.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

YOUR RIGHTS

Since Wavetype collects no personal data:

There is no data to request, modify, or delete
You can uninstall the app at any time with no data remaining
Your privacy is absolute and complete
